Review of Platipus casino software
Platipus is a casino software developer with a strange name and an interesting set of casino games. The company was founded in 2010 and is based out of the UK, bringing both slot machines and table games to online betting sites.
Slots are the main focus of Platipus, as the group has designed 40 video slots as of November 2019. These games seem to be similar to what you'd see from many land casino developers, although Platipus has definitely put their own mark on the games. I could swear that I'd played Bison Trail somewhere else, only to realize I was thinking of the Ainsworth slot 'American Bison'. The games just seem to be that similar.
That's not to knock the overall quality of games from this group, as the titles all look and play nicely. You're going to get sharp visuals that look nice no matter the screen you play on. I tried each game on both my desktop as well as my iPhone, and I found that they looked equally nice. Table games look and play nicely as well. I liked the design aesthetic, but did find the voice in the game to be a bit robotic.
Platipus is working to find different casino partners, and as of press time, they don't have a huge number of spots where you'll find their games. This can be mitigated by some of their content aggregation partners, with whom Platipus has signed on with SoftSwiss, EveryMatrix, Solid Gaming, and Slotegrator. These platform groups have agreements with many developers, and what they do is offer a larger selection of games to casinos, negating the requirement for the developer to negotiate with individual operators.
Platipus is still on the upswing as a developer, and without a doubt they'll be getting a lot more spots to offer their games at in the future.
