Review of Amigotechs casino software

Based in Panama, Amigotechs is an online betting software developer who has been developing casino games and platforms for the past several years. The group is known for its casino, sportsbetting, and poker products, which are then sent on to internet casinos that primarily focus on the North American betting market. The software is or was also seen under the names of AST Gaming and ThrillX.

Warning: possibly rigged software

In early 2012, Eliot Jacobsen of Certified Fair Gambling analysed the results of an Amigotechs game of Jacks or Better video poker where a player had noticed that he had never drawn a winning hand, nor improved an already winning hand on the draw, in over 50 hands. He concluded that this result was so unlikely that the game had to have been rigged to make the player lose. A quote from his analysis sums things up nicely:

To put this in perspective, it is more likely to win the United States Powerball lottery 14 times in a row, buying a single ticket, than that the results of this game happened purely by chance. It is more likely, playing blackjack, to be dealt a blackjack 90 times in a row than that the results of the game happened purely by chance.

The developer claimed that it was a programming fix designed to thwart hackers gone wrong, but other players have also reported unbelievable losing streaks at other casinos using this software. Needless to say, you would be foolish to play at any casino running Amigotechs software after reading that.

Software and Games

The biggest section of the Amigotechs gaming library is its casino section, which includes a selection of slots, table games, and video poker games. The games themselves are not very impressive, looking quite dated when you compare them to developers like Playtech, Microgaming, or Net Entertainment.

Slots currently number 15, and have the basic themes one would expect from any gaming developer. The games contain basic slot features such as Free Spins, Wild Symbols, Scatters, and multiple paylines. Games such as Lucky 7, American Slots, Old West, and Jungle are on offer, and offer perhaps the most fluid and playable of the games, even though they still aren’t great.

Table games are the other big significant offering from Amigotechs, with the company offering standard games like blackjack, baccarat, poker, war, roulette, and a few more obscure games that you don’t normally see at standard casinos.

A healthy selection of video poker machines are also up, but most of the titles are single or multi-hand variations of the same title (eg. Jacks or Better versus Jacks or Better Multi). These games are more standard in presentation than the slots and table games, and thus do not feel nearly as dated as those other game types. However Amigotechs has been caught cheating players with their video poker games in the past, so I recommend that you don't go near them.

Rounding out the gaming options are a few scratch cards, keno, and bingo games, but honestly these games aren’t that special and are likely to be passed over by punters.

Conclusion

Amigotechs is a subpar betting developer whose games are not very good. They have been caught red-handed programming their games to cheat players in the past, and obviously we cannot guarantee that they will not do it again. You should definitely avoid playing at any casino that is running Amigotechs software as there are much better games out there.
