Finnish gaming group Veikkaus announced that it could see redundancies as it faces an upcoming liberalised market as well revenue drops.
The company will be negotiating contracts with up to six hundred twenty employees, with up to four employees being made redundant and changes of terms of employment to between ten and thirty-seven others.
Veikkaus saw gross gaming revenues drop 21% in the first half of the year, and that number will likely get worse as more operators enter the market. Depending on how severe that impact is, anywhere between one hundred eighty-five and two hundred fifteen jobs could be impacted.
Regarding the negotiations, Veikkaus EVP of HR Heli Lallukka said: "In practice, we are aiming at an operating model through which we can focus on our core business. The planned measures would enable us to deal with the changes in Veikkaus' mission and operating environment, as well as with the changes in the overall gambling sector. It may also mean changes to the organisational structure and the operating models."
