The New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement has announced that the state's gambling revenues grew 4.4% in August when compared to the year prior, hitting $555.1 million.
The total was also up 1.3% from the $547.8 million generated in July. Online gaming revenues were up 27.8% to $198.4 million, which sits as a record for the vertical. Of that total, $196 million came from online slot revenues (up 28.2%) while peer-to-peer revenues were flat at $2.4 million.
The Golden Nugget was the leading online operator, with the FanDuel, Betway, and BetRivers brands generating $55 million in revenues. DraftKings had $43.2 million in revenue.
Sportsbetting revenues were down 34.7% to $62.7 million, while handle also dropped 3.7% to $698.8 million. $666.3 million was bet online, and $32.5 million was bet at retail books.
Land casino revenues were $294 million, up 4% from last year. The Borgata was the top land casino, hauling in $74.2 million.
New Jersey is poised to set a record for gaming revenues if 2024 keeps up the pace. For the year-to-date, revenues sit at $4.16 billion, up 10.5% from last year.
