Dallas Cowboys Sign Aristocrat Gaming as Partner

The NFL's Dallas Cowboys have become partners with Aristocrat Gaming, making the game developer an "Official Partner" of the team moving forward.

As a result of the deal, Aristocrat will get signage inside of the team's AT&T Stadium, with the logo being shown during games and in the concourse. Additionally, the groups will work together to offer digital integrations and to develop in-game promotions for fans of the team. Aristocrat is known as a behemoth when it comes to developing casino games for land casinos, and the company is actively expanding into the online marketplace.

Interestingly, gambling is largely restricted in the state of Texas, as there are three Native American casinos, a lottery system, bingo, dog racing, and horse racing available. All other forms of betting are currently outlawed, although there have been (failed) attempts to legalize online betting.

Dallas Cowboys Executive VP of Business Operations Chad Estis commented on the deal, noting: "The Cowboys are excited to partner with Aristocrat Gaming to bring even more ways to entertain our fans.

"We pride ourselves on aligning with world-class partners, and Aristocrat Gaming has been a trailblazer in the gaming industry for decades. We are thrilled to work with the Aristocrat team on activation and branding opportunities throughout the year and to have our Cowboys marks featured on their slot machines nationwide."

Aristocrat Gaming CEO Hector Fernandez added: "We are proud to be the newest partner of the Dallas Cowboys, one of the world's premier sports and entertainment organizations with a proud championed history, much like Aristocrat Gaming.

"With the success of the NFL Slots portfolio, we have been able to bring the excitement of fan-favorite teams like the Dallas Cowboys to casino floors across the country. We look forward to bringing even more innovative experiences to fans through this partnership."

I know the Cowboys are "America's team" and all, but this seems like a weird partnership. Gambling is largely illegal in Texas, so what are they going to be really able to accomplish here?
