Gambling Changes Proposed in Lithuania

Lithuania's Finance Ministry announced today that it is proposing amendments to the country's gambling laws that would implement new measures for gambling operators, including new responsible gambling rules.

The amendments to the current gambling laws will be introduced into the government within the next couple of weeks. Among the changes are rules that would require operators to more closely monitor players who are losing large amounts of money with their betting products.

After the bills are submitted to the government and approved, they'll enter parliament for discussion and a vote.

There have also been other measures introduced that'll clamp down on gambling rules. Amendments that have been proposed would place gambling advertising restrictions on companies as well as ban gambling sponsorships for events and activities. This would also end gambling ads from appearing on sporting kits or at stadiums.
