Yesterday Fanatics Betting and Gaming announced that their online sportsbook has gone live in the state of New York, with the Empire State becoming the fifteenth market for the company.
Fanatics has been slowly taking over the PointsBet brand in the United States after purchasing the company's US-facing business from the Australian operator. The app will see existing PointsBet customers having their details automatically ported over to the new operation. The product is available in the form of an app and can be downloaded from the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
In addition to New York, Fanatics is currently operating sportsbooks in Colorado, Connecticut, Iowa, Kentucky, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Vermont, Virginia, and West Virginia. The company also has online casinos in the states of West Virginia, Michigan, and Pennsylvania.
New York is by far the most lucrative market for sportsbetting in the United States. In January, revenues were $211.5 million (an all-time record) along with handle of $1.96 billion.
