UK Online Slot Spin Limits Coming

The UK government is expected to approve of a measure that'll see spin limits being implemented for online slots at regulated UK online casinos.

There is currently a £2 per spin limit on retail slot machines that has been in place since 2019, but no such limit currently applies to online betting. Under the reported change, there'll be a £2 bet maximum per spin for punters 25 years of age or younger, while everyone above that age limit will be £5 per spin.

It is expected that such a move would hinder online betting revenues for operators, although no firm data on losses was available. Slot revenues in the UK generated £3.2 billion in revenue in 2023, the most recent data set.

The move is being made as a measure to help curb gambling addiction.

While the move hasn't been officially announced, industry insiders are expecting to get official word on the changes in the coming weeks.
