Mississippi's Gaming Commission has announced the state's gaming revenues for the month of January 2024, noting that the state's land-based non-tribal casinos hit $180.3 million in revenue.

The state has 26 land casinos in operation, with revenues generated from slots, table games, and poker. Those numbers are down 10% from January of 2023 and also down 18% from December 2023, when revenues hit $219.8 million.

The Southern region of the state was responsible for $120.9 million of the revenues. The Northern region generated $36.4 million, while the Central region generated $23 million.

Sportsbetting revenues were $6.7 million, up 31.4% from January of last year and up 36.7% from December. Handle was down 22% to $44.6 million from last year and also down 8.8% from December.

The state is looking at possibly passing a bill that will legalize online sportsbetting. The bill that would do so has already passed the state's House and is awaiting debate in the Senate.
