Paddy Power Increases Prostate Cancer UK Donation to £1 Million

Gaming operator Paddy Power announced that they've increased their donation to the charity Prostate Cancer UK to £1 million, upping from the £914,000 they stood to donate.

The company had a promotion running for the 2023 World Darts Championship in London during December, which saw Paddy donating £1,000 for every 180 that was scored during the tournament. The 180 score was hit 914 times, meaning that Paddy Power was to donate £914,000. The company decided to increase that pledge by £86,000 to round off to an even £1 million.

In a statement, Paddy Power commented, noting: "It's been an epic World Darts Championship with a brand new champion crowned and a star of the future emerging. And to get into the spirit of all things bright and wonderful, Paddy's decided to up our Prostate Cancer UK donation to a round £1m."

The tournament was won by Luke Humphries, who beat out an unseeded 16-year-old for the crown.

Prostate Cancer UK was founded in 1996 by Jonathan Waxman and has the goal of promoting cancer research, support, and awareness.
