New York Sportsbetting Revenues Set Record in December

Sportsbetting continues to be a dominant industry in the Empire State, as New York's revenues for the month of December hit $188.3 million, a new all-time record.

Those numbers beat the previous record of $166.3 million, which was set in October. The total is also up 32.8% from last year and up 24.8% from November when revenues were $150.9 million.

Handle for the month was $2.11 billion, up 25.7% from last year. This marks the third straight month that gamblers in the state wagered more than $2 billion in the market.

The biggest winner in terms of revenue for the month was FanDuel, which had $93.6 million in revenue on $834.5 million in handle. DraftKings had $65.2 million in revenue on $773.4 million in handle. Caesars was third with $15.9 million in handle and $202 million in handle. BetMGM had $8.1 million in revenue on $126.5 million wagered. Rush Street Interactive had $3.1 million in revenue on $50.7 million in handle. PointsBet had $2.6 million in revenue on $28.6 million wagered. Resorts World Interactive was in last place with $401,566 in revenues.

The state is looking to expand its land casino market, as three licenses to build resorts are being considered by the state's gambling commission. Of note is a $2.1 billion proposed facility that would sit in the parking lot of the New York Mets' Citi Field.
