American land casino group MGM Resorts International announced that they've been targeted in a cyberattack, which has shut down many of the company's systems.
The attack has seen the MGM Resorts website going down, and guests reporting that slot machines and hotel room access being knocked down. The company says that they continue to operate dining, gambling and entertainment businesses and that staff at resorts continue to provide assistance in person.
As of press time, the issues were still ongoing, and the company's site is still listing phone numbers for guests to contact for assistance.
In a statement issued on X, the company said, "MGM Resorts recently identified a cybersecurity issue affecting some of the company's systems. Promptly after detecting the issue, we quickly began an investigation with assistance from leading external cybersecurity experts.
"We also notified law enforcement and took prompt action to protect our systems and data. This included shutting down certain systems.
"Our investigation is ongoing and we are working diligently to determine the nature and scope of the matter."
MGM says that they've contacted law enforcement about the situation and are working to rectify issues.
