Singapore Arrests 25 in Gambling Bust

Law enforcement in Singapore were arrested in a gambling raid carried out by the country's Woodlands Police Division on July 20th.

The raid saw 25 people, 13 men and 12 women aged between 31 and 76 being taken into police custody. The raid took place in Sembawang in the northern part of the country.

During the raid, S$19,752 was seized, along with 11 mobile phones and other gambling materials. A 39-year-old man and a 52-year-old woman are facing charges of acting as an illegal gaming service provider. This could carry a five-year prison fine and a fine of up to S$200,000.

In a statement, the Singapore Police Force said, "The police take a serious view of all forms of illegal gambling activities and will continue to take tough enforcement action against those who are involved in such activities."
