Malta Suspends Tipster's Gaming Licence

This story was published more than 1 year ago.

Today the Malta Gaming Authority announced that it has suspended the gaming licence of sportsbetting operator Tipster Limited due to the company closing its operation down.

The move comes weeks after the company had its German licence revoked after an alleged raid took place on the company earlier this year. The company has since gone into insolvency, with Dr Jörg Gollnick serving as the company's insolvency administrator.

The MGA said that the suspension was pursuant to Regulation 9 (1) (f) of the country's Gaming Compliance and Enforcement Regulations, which state that an operator's licence must be suspended should they enter insolvency.

Tipster does have the ability to challenge the decision, but this is unlikely.
