MGA Revokes MKC Limited's Gaming Licence

Malta's gaming regulator, the Malta Gaming Authority has announced the cancellation of MKC Limited's gaming licence, related to financial lapses by the company.

The revocation means that MKC Limited cannot offer services or claim to have an MGA licence for their brand Betworld247. The company was found to have breached Regulation 9 (1) (c), (d), (i), (l) and Regulation 10 (1) (a) of the Gaming Compliance and Enforcement Regulations, as they didn't pay the licencing fee that was due to them, as well as failing to meet commitments to customers in a timely manner.

News of the revocation comes after the Netherlands' gaming regulator Kansspelautoriteit issued a cease-and-desist order against MKC Limited for offering games to players in the country without a licence.

Regarding the decision, the MGA said, "One of the grounds for suspension envisaged in regulation 9 arises and the Authority, in its sole discretion, determines that cancellation of the authorisation is the most appropriate measure.

"[MKC] is thus no longer authorised to carry out any gaming operations and shall remove, with immediate effect, any reference to the authority and authorisation."
