Sports apparel brand Fanatics has announced that its mobile sportsbook has launched in the state of Maryland after they were approved to start offering services by the Maryland Lottery and Gaming Control Commission.
The sportsbook will allow gamblers to place bets on their smartphones, with the ability to bet on NFL, NBA, NHL, MLB, and other sports around the world. The launch comes months after Fanatics launched a retail sportsbook at FedExField Stadium, which is home to the NFL's Washington Commanders. The book itself has 21 self-service kiosks and 8 betting windows.
With the launch, Fanatics becomes the tenth mobile operator in the Old Lien State, joining the likes of FanDuel, DraftKings, Betfred, BetMGM, Caesars, PointsBet, Barstool Sportsbook, BetRivers, and SuperBook.
News of the launch comes after it was revealed that the state's sportsbetting industry had handle of $328 million in April, with mobile handle accounting for 95% of that total. Gross gaming revenues were $35.6 million, and tax revenues were $3.8 million during the month.
