Sportsbetting in Delaware continues to struggle, as handle fell to its lowest level in eight months in April. This news was partially offset by online casino wagering though, as handle increased.
Sportsbetting handle for the month was down 10% from last year to $3.4 million, and down $100,000 from March's total. This month's handle is the lowest since August of last year. Revenues were up, though, rising 19.2% to $374,568. This number was down 31.2% from $544,385 the month prior.
Delaware Park was the top sportsbook in the state, with $1.9 million in handle and $195,226 in revenue. Bally's Dover was next with $873,791 in handle and $93,506 in revenue. Harrington Raceway was in third spot with $458,575 in handle and $46,728 in revenues.
In terms of online casino gambling, handle was up 6.2% from last year to $39.5 million. Video lottery games (including slots) generated $24.1 million in handle, with table games generating $11.4 million in handle.
Revenues from online casino gambling was $1.3 million, up 8.3% from last year. Video lottery games generated $1.1 million of this, while table games generated $195,118. Poker rake for the month was $44,540.
The top-performing casino was Bally's Dover with $457,240 in revenue on $10.6 million in handle. Delaware Park was in second spot with $444,955 in revenue on $20.7 million in handle. Harrington Raceway rounded out the field, with $391,510 on $8.1 million in handle.
