Today a series of betting operators tied into the UK's Betting and Gaming Council announced that they'll be donating all of the profits they make on the Brittania Stakes race on June 22nd to different charities.

The companies will donate the funds to six different charities, which include: SportsAid, the Holocaust Educational Trust, Cystic Fibrosis Trust, SAS Regimental Association, Ascot Racecourse Supports, and Together for Looked After Children. Operators that'll be donating their profits include: Flutter, bet365, Entain, 888 William Hill, Kindred, Rank, LiveScore, Tote, Fitzdares, and Bet with Ascot. Last year, BGC members made a similar pledge and raised £1.2 million for charity.

The Brittania Stakes takes place at the Royal Ascot racetrack and covers an area of 1 mile. The track itself is turf, and the race has been held annually since 1928 and has a purse of £120,000.

"Royal Ascot remains one of Britain's most historic and world-renowned sporting spectacles of the year, and I am delighted once more it is raising vital funds for a host of outstanding charities," said BGC CEO Michael Dugher. "Millions of people enjoy a bet during Royal Ascot and however the punters fare in the Britannia Stakes, some of the UK's top charities are guaranteed to be big winners."

Ascot Racecourse CEO Alastair Warwick also commented, adding: "It is fantastic news that the leading bookmakers will once again be donating all profits from the Britannia Stakes to charity.

"The money raised since 2020 has been extremely well received, including by our own Ascot Racecourse Supports programme and the contributions have enabled us to support some extremely worthy causes and carry out important work in the community."

I have to say that it's pretty cool to see the books all coming together to do a charity donation like this.
