Ukraine Suspends Two State Lotteries

This week it was announced that Ukraine's Commission for the Regulation of Gambling and Lotteries (KRAIL) has made the choice to suspend two state lotteries without giving reason as to why the suspension occurred.

The lotteries that were suspended were instant cash lottery Catch the Moment as well as number draw lottery Penalty. The notice of suspension was posted in the Zigzag Udachy newspaper as well as the Ukranian National Lottery website. Both lotteries were suspended from operating services effective April 3rd, 2023, but the groups stopped taking wagers on March 24th.

Ukraine is currently engaged in an armed conflict with neighboring Russia, and in the past, KRAIL had suspended licences of betting companies with ties to Russia. It's not known if that's the case in this instance.
