The other day we reported that the KSA fined five operators €26 million for targeting Dutch players. Today, the company fined the largest amount issued a statement, calling the decision unfair.
The company said that they disagree with the allegation that they targeted Dutch players. N1 says that they've taken steps to specifically keep players from the Netherlands from betting on their sites. The statement also claims that the KSA's fine of €12.6 million was incorrect, as the amount fined was way too high.
Due to these reasons, N1 said that they are objecting to the fine and had requested the KSA hold off on publishing the fine so that they can work on a formal appeal of the fine. This went unheeded though, as the news went live earlier this week. The company will instead press forward with the appeal in court, saying that they'll submit evidence that proves their case.
N1 is continuing to operate with a Malta licence, and says they'll continue business as usual moving forward.

I've been seeing a lot about the KSA fines in the last month. I understand that in some cases they may think that the fines are needed, but the amounts they're asking for are bigger than I've probably ever seen in similar cases in other jurisdictions.
They're trying to lay down the law and tell these operators there won't be wiggle room in the Netherlands. I wonder how high they'll go.
