This week sportsbook BetOnline announced that they've entered into a partnership with burgeoning wrestling promotion Major League Wrestling, and will become the league's title sponsor and official sportsbook partner.
The agreement will see the two groups working together beginning this month, and will see BetOnline's branding featured prominently across the events, which are broadcast on the Reelz television channel. The promotion was formed in 2002 but closed down in 2004 before being revived in its current format in 2017.
Regarding the partnership, BetOnline Brand Manager Dave Manson said, "We are extremely thrilled to partner with Major League Wrestling this season. As a leading provider in the North American sports betting market, BetOnline is always eager to support initiatives that align with our product, and MLW is a burgeoning behemoth in the pro wrestling space.
"BetOnline's sponsorship allows us to heavily engage with MLW's rabid fanbase, bringing new and exciting entertainment and gambling products to its growing audience. We've been offering wrestling odds to US customers for more than 15 years, and we're excited to be part of MLW's trailblazing entry into the industry."
Major League Wrestling CEO Court Bauer added: "Sports gaming is embedded in all forms of sports and a partner like BetOnline goes hand-in-hand with MLW and our distinct combat sports product. Just as they are a leader in the rapidly growing sports gaming space, MLW aims to lead in a time when pro wrestling has never been hotter, and we're looking forward to all the ways this partnership will grow."
