Barstool Gets Responsible Gambling Council Certification

Today Penn Entertainment announced that it's American betting brands Barstool Sports and HollywoodCasino.com have been granted RG Check iGaming Accreditation from the Responsible Gambling Council after analyzing the operations of both groups.

Penn was given the approval through its Penn Interactive subsidiary, which operates both brands. The company underwent a voluntary process in which both brands were investigated to determine that they had appropriate tools to mitigate gambling-related harm. This accreditation isn't required in the United States, but it does show that the company has controls that are deemed effective to both monitor and help prevent gambling addiction.

Regarding the certification Penn Entertainment Chief Compliance Officer Chris Soriano said, "Penn is committed to being at the forefront of responsible gaming and achieving this accreditation for our online platforms further strengthens our top of class RG program. We have and will continue to be proactive by investing in valuable training and resources to ensure that we are providing the safest possible environment for players to responsibly enjoy gaming.

"Electing to undergo, and receiving accreditation following a thorough review of our operation, demonstrates that we're actioning the highest standards of RG programming."
