888 to Launch Online in Michigan

This story was published more than 1 year ago.

Gaming operator 888 has been given the go-ahead to partner with tribal casino group Hannahville Indian tribe in order to launch online operations in the state of Michigan.

The approval will see 888 working with the tribe to launch online casino and sportsbetting services in the Wolverine State, with a full suite of slots, table games, live dealer titles and more available to punters aged 21 or older and physically located in the state. The tribe was previously working with the TwinSpires brand from Churchill Downs, but the site decided to close down due to poor performance last year.

Commenting on the approval, Michigan Gaming Control Board Executive Director Henry Williams said, "I wish the Hannahville tribe continued success as they once again may offer their customers both internet gaming and internet sports betting in Michigan.

"The MGCB shall ensure the conduct of fair and honest gaming to protect the interests of the citizens of the State of Michigan."

No launch date for the product was given at press time.
