This week Premier Greyhound Racing announced that they've signed commercial agreements with major gaming operators, and will provide broadcast information to these groups in retail shops beginning next year.
The group announced that they've signed agreements with Ladbrokes, Coral, Paddy Power, Betfred, and William Hill. Under the agreements, PGR will provide imagery from racing tracks to the retail shops, who'll then use them in conjunction with the racing odds they're providing. PGR is a newly-formed company, which is a joint venture between gaming operator Entain and Arena Racing. The company owns 20 racing tracks in the UK, and they also have media rights for five other tracks.
"As important as greyhound racing is to the betting industry as a whole, greyhounds have always been a fundamental part of the betting shop service," said PGR Director Mark Kingston. "Signing up all major retail bookmakers to take the Premier Greyhound Racing service is therefore the biggest endorsement we could have for the content we will be providing from January 2024.
"This commitment from retail bookmakers also underpins the viability of the service as we look to drive a competitive betting product allied to the very highest welfare standards for the greyhounds racing at our tracks."
