PointsBet to Sell Australian Business

Australian betting company PointsBet is in discussions to sell its Australian gaming branch to News Corp subsidiary NTD Limited.

The news was initially reported in The Australian, but was later confirmed by the company. The NTD business is an umbrella company that was formed by News Corp, Tekkorp Capital, and gaming industry veteran Matt Trip, who runs the Betr gaming brand. News on the payment amount hasn't been disclosed at this time.

In a statement, PointBet said, "Discussions between PointsBet and NTD are incomplete and preliminary in nature. There is no certainty that these discussions will result in any binding transaction."

"PointsBet will keep the market updated in accordance with its continuous disclosure obligations."

PointsBet is active in Australia, Canada, and the United States, where it runs a sportsbook as well as casino services.
