Rapper Jay-Z's entertainment company Roc Nation announced that they're partnering with Caesars in its bid to launch a Times Square casino, joining the plan as an entertainment partner for the property.

The agreement will see Roc Nation working to design the entertainment options for the casino, which could include an entertainment venue that hosts concerts and live shows. The venue would be the first downstate New York casino, and would likely draw attention as an entertainment hub in one of the most popular tourist areas in the world.

No firm plans for the casino have been announced, but the Caesars plan is one of the leading ideas for a downstate casino thus far.

Roc Nation was formed by Jay-Z and manages numerous musical artists as well as athletes. Prominent names on the company's client list include Rihanna, Gucci Mane, J. Cole, and others.

Regarding the partnership, Caesars CEO Tom Reeg said, "We are thrilled to have Roc Nation and Jay-Z join our partnership to bring Caesars Palace to Times Square. They are one of the most pioneering entertainment groups in the world, with New York embedded in their DNA.

"Times Square has been the heartbeat of American Entertainment for over a century.

"Through our shared vision, we will build a world-class destination specifically designed to complement and elevate today's Times Square experience, ensuring it remains a magnet for visitors and a hub of creativity for years to come."

Jay-Z also commented, noting: "New York is a beacon, the epicenter of culture. "We have the opportunity to create a destination at the heart of Times Square, the true crossroads of the world.

"My partnership with SL Green and Caesars, this coalition, has all the promise and commitment to economic opportunity, growth and enrichment for the community, and everyone who visits the Empire State."
