Last week the Netherlands' gaming regulator Kansspelautoriteit ordered betting group Holland Casino to remove ads on its online betting site that promote land-based locations throughout the country.
The ads date back to October 2021, when the KSA saw the ads. When ads were clicked it led to information regarding Holland Casino's land-based casinos throughout the country. While Holland Casino has both land-based and online licences, operators can only provide advertisements that are deemed relevant to the operation being accessed. As such, Holland Casino's online site cannot promote the land casinos, and vice versa. This put the company in breach of Article 4.2, paragraph 5, of the Dutch Remote Games of Chance Decree.
Holland Casino has accepted the ruling and removed the ads from their site. No fine was issued by the KSA in regard to the infraction.
