Washington DC Sportsbetting Handle Sets 2022 Record

Washington DC set a sportsbetting handle record for 2022 in the month of October, with the total rising 27.8% from September to $24.8 million.

That number is slightly down from the $26.3 million bet in October of last year. Revenues were up 93.8% from the same time last year to $1.6 million, however those numbers were down from the $3.6 million generated in September.

Caesars was the top-performing operator in the market, with $1.3 million in revenue on $8.2 million in bets. DC Lottery operation Gambet was second with $838,108 in revenue on $7.5 million in handle. BetMGM was next with $461,357 in revenue on $6.9 million in handle, while FanDuel had $433,817 in revenue on $1.7 million in handle.

Caesars has been prominent in its business in DC, having expanded its retail sportsbook at Capital One Arena. It added 700 square-feet to the venue, which has 20 self-serve kiosks. Other operators like BetMGM have opened facilities at Nationals Park, while FanDuel runs a sportsbook at Audi Field, home of MLS team DC United.
