American gambling group Caesars Digital has launched its sportsbetting app in the state of Maryland ahead of the state's launch of regulated sportsbetting.
The state is expected to give sportsbetting operators the go-ahead to begin offering services imminently, as they have already closed out the licensing process. Operators that will be sanctioned to offer services have already been notified, and are able to deploy their products. Bets cannot be taken, but players can register for an account so that they're ready for launch.
Caesars is one of the most prominent betting brands in the United States, alongside FanDuel, DraftKings, and BetMGM. The company has spent millions of dollars on marketing and has become a partner of the NFL's Baltimore Ravens to help strengthen the brand in the market.
Commenting on the launch, Caesars Digital President Eric Hession said, "The Caesars Sportsbook app is ready to deliver an unmatched sports wagering experience in Maryland, true to Caesars' legacy in the state. Today's launch for pre-registration is a great way for Maryland sports fans to prepare for mobile sports betting's full launch."
