Esports data company Bayes Esports has announced that they've begun offering services in Canada through operator bet365, with whom they have a distribution agreement.
The launch will see bet365 providing eSports betting services to punters that utilize feeds from Bayes. Esports are competitions that involve video games, rather than traditional sports, and see players facing off to see who can emerge victorious. Popular games like Dota 2, Overwatch, and Rocket League all attract heavy eSports attention, with millions of viewers around the world.
There are currently 49 betting operators in Ontario, which launched legal online operations earlier this year. Esports betting was effectively legalized in August, when the Canadian government legalized single-event sportsbetting.
Regarding the deal, Bayes Esports COO Amir Mirzaee said, "These past couple of months have been amazing for us. We have expanded to the U.S, launched an innovative odds integration platform that will revolutionize sports betting in BODEX, and strengthened our management team with some of the brightest minds from across various different industries.
"To now also be registered in Ontario and to extend our partnership with Bet365 accordingly feels like the cherry on top. I am certain other provinces will follow Ontario's example and we will be able to offer live esports data to sportsbooks all across Canada in the near future."
