Sportsbetting continued to be big business in the state of New York in September, with revenues coming in at $143.3 million during the period.

The total was up 15.5% from the previous high, which was $124.1 million in the activity's first month of January 2022. The total is also the highest revenue haul for the Empire State since May. The numbers were also up 43.9% from the $99.6 million generated in August.

Handle for the month was $1.26 billion, up 44.1% from August and also the highest total since May.

Flutter's FanDuel was the market leader in New York with $499.8 million in handle and $65.7 million in revenues. DraftKings was next with $422.2 million in handle and $44.9 million in revenues, while Caesars was third with $163.2 million in handle and $18.6 million in revenues.

The betting market roared to life with the launch of the NCAA football and NFL seasons, both of which launched during the month. Numbers will likely be strong again in October, as the season will be fully underway for the whole period.
