The Canadian province of Saskatchewan will be getting online gaming next month when the Saskatchewan Indian Gaming Authority launches its PlayNow domain.
When the site goes live it will be the only legal option for online gambling in the province, joining the likes of British Columbia, Manitoba, Ontario, and Quebec as having legal options for players. The ability for the site to launch came in a compact between the province's government and the Federation of Sovereign Indigenous Nations, which went into place last year.
The site uses the same platform as British Columbia's PlayNow site, and will incorporate online slots, table games, and more.
Regarding the launch SIGA CEO Zane Hansen said, "We are excited to be the exclusive provider of Saskatchewan's first and only legal online gaming site, which will provide a safe and secure option for residents to play their favourite casino games and bet on their favourite sports teams online.
"Residents will be pleased to know that when they play on the PlayNow.com site, the proceeds are reinvested back into the province. Similar to the existing brick-and-mortar casinos in the province, all net proceeds from the PlayNow.com site are reinvested back into Saskatchewan."
The betting site has signed a sponsorship deal with the Saskatchewan Roughriders, with the goal of trying to push awareness of the site.
