Great Canadian Entertainment to Launch Sportsbooks

Canadian land casino company Great Canadian Entertainment revealed that they've reached an agreement with Kambi that'll see the company able to deploy retail sportsbooks at their Ontario casinos.

The sportsbooks will launch at ten of Great Canadian Entertainment's casinos, with various kiosks offering up wagers on sports like hockey, Canadian football, American football, baseball, basketball, and other sports. Great Canadian Entertainment operates 12 casinos in Ontario and 25 casinos throughout the whole of Canada.

Kambi has been making a big push lately, having signed a number of deals for distribution. The company also recently purchased developer Shape Games, adding content to their library moving forward.

Regarding the deal Great Canadian Entertainment CEO Tony Rodio said, "The addition of sports betting at 10 of our Ontario-based gaming destinations is an important new amenity, elevating the gaming experience for our guests.

"As the first company to launch this type of product in Ontario, we are thankful for our partnership with Kambi throughout this new venture as well as the continued support from the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation, Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario and Ontario's provincial government."
