Germany Raises €596.1 Million in Gambling Tax Revenues

Germany saw its gambling tax revenues rise in the third quarter of 2022, with €596.1 million generated, up 15.5% from last year.

Online slot tax revenues were €123.2 million during the quarter, up over 300% from last year when the activity was newly-legalized across the country. Online poker tax revenues were €8 million, up more than double from last year. Sportsbetting tax revenues were &eurp;53.4 million, down 47.8% from last year.

Lottery tax revenues were up 8.4% to €409.5 million, while Totoalisator tax revenues were €1.8 million. Other gambling tax revenues stook at €191,000.

The state of Nordrhein-Westfalen (Germany's most populous state) had tax revenues of €138.3 million.

For the year-to-date, gambling tax revenues are up 20% to €1.96 billion.
