American betting group Caesars Entertainment has announced the launch of its online sportsbook in the state of Ohio, although it won't offer real-money betting services until January of next year.

The site will be offering registration for players ahead of the launch, offering the ability to deposit $20 for $100 in free bet credits. Punters can also link their Caesars Rewards information to earn comp points while they bet on sports.

Regarding the launch Caesars Digital President Eric Hession said, "Ohio's rich tradition of sports excellence speaks for itself. Caesars Sportsbook is ready to match the pedigree and passion of Ohio sports fans with a sports wagering experience that treats them like royalty."

Regulated sportsbetting is expected to go live in Ohio in January of next year, and there are currently numerous operators (including Caesars) that have gaming license applications to offer the service.

Caesars is already live in the Buckeye State, as they've partnered with NYRA Bets to launch a horseracing betting platform.
