Major League Baseball team the Cincinnati Reds have announced that they've partnered with American gaming operator BetMGM, making the company an official sports betting partner of the team.

The move comes in anticipation of the legalization of sportsbetting in Ohio, which will go live on January 1st of next year. BetMGM will get signage at the Reds' home stadium of Great American Ballpark, as well as other branding opportunities with the club. BetMGM is going to also open a sportsbook at the park, making it the second book in an MLB stadium after the one found in Nationals Park.

BetMGM has spent millions of dollars establishing itself as one of the premier betting groups in the United States. The company offers sportsbetting and casino services, with desktop and mobile access available in the several states in which it operates.

Regarding the deal, BetMGM CEO Adam Greenblatt said, "Today's announcement marks the beginning of our plans to create the most entertaining and dynamic sports betting experiences in Ohio.

"Through our relationships with the Reds and MGM Northfield Park, we look forward to bringing unique BetMGM content to Ohio's passionate sports fans."

Cincinnati Reds CFO Doug Healy added: "With sports gaming coming to Ohio, the Reds sought to bring the highest quality operator to our ballpark for those fans who choose to participate in sports gaming.

"BetMGM is renowned for their expertise in entertainment and sports gaming, and we believe their brand best fits our high customer standards and will also help draw visitors to our city."
