Washington DC Sportsbetting Revenue Rises in August

Washington DC saw its sportsbetting handle rise in August, with spending hitting $13.1 million during the period.

The total was up 15.9% from July and up 5.7% from August of last year.

Gross gaming revenues were up to $1.8 million, beating the $1.2 million generated in July by 50% and up 20% from 2021's total.

Caesars took the top spot in the market with $683,326 in revenue on $5.7 million in handle. Gambet was second in revenue with $557,987 on $3.4 million in handle. BetMGM's revenue was $362,462 on handle of $2.5 million.

FanDuel's retail sportsbook generated $170,938 in revenue on $1 million in handle during its first full month of operation.
