The English Premier League's Manchester City FC has announced that they've partnered with gaming operator LeoVegas Group, making the company the team's official betting partner in both Europe and Canada.
The LeoVegas logo will be featured on the team's training kit sleeve for this season, and there'll also be signage at both Ethiad Stadium and Academy Stadium. LeoVegas will also get the opportunity to provide prizes for fans of the teams with matchday experiences.
The timing of this agreement is interesting, as Premier League teams are debating banning gambling deals between clubs and operators. The league is deciding the fate of these sponsorships and an announcement will come at some point.
"We look forward to working together to bring fans and customers even closer to the club," said City Football Group VP of Global Partnership Sales Dina Ahmad. "Additionally, we are excited that this new partnership will also help spark further growth across Europe and Canada and allow us to continue reaching audiences around the world."
LeoVegas Group CEO Gustaf Hagman added: "LeoVegas is proud to be entering into this partnership with Manchester City, and excited to be able to offer our customers unique experiences with the club."
"Manchester City is a colossal in the sport, with the same leading mentality as LeoVegas; this collaboration is an opportunity for LeoVegas to build further brand awareness to support our global growth."
