Grosvenor Workers Vote to Strike Over Pay Issues

Workers at the various Grosvenor Casino locations in London have voted to go on strike this weekend over pay issues.

The vote was held by Unite union members, who said that they'll go on the picket line from 6pm Friday September 9th until 6am on Monday September 12th. Workers think that as a result of the strike, the Grosvenor-owned locations The Golden Horseshoe, The Barracuda, The Park Tower, The Rialto, The Victoria, The St Giles, and The Gloucester will have to close.

Unite is comprised of by dealers, but there will also be kitchen, food, and beverage staff all included in the strike. They're looking for pay increases, citing the cost of living crisis in the country. Grosvenor has offered retention bonuses of £600 and £800, both of which were rejected.

Unite's General Secretary Sharon Graham spoke about the issue, noting: "Here we go again: Grosvenor Casinos is another big money company that is raking it in but refusing to pay its workers a wage that they can live on. It's just not acceptable and this huge vote for action underscores the sense of anger across this workforce.

"Our members at Grosvenor Casinos will have Unite's full backing in this fight for a fair deal."

We'll update readers as the situation develops.
