Flutter Announces Staff Layoffs

This story was published more than 2 years ago.

Betting group Flutter Entertainment has announced that it will be laying off staff in both the UK and Ireland after conducting internal assessments and determining the positions weren't needed.

The company didn't give firm answers on the number of staff and who may be affected but did indicate that many of those who're made redundant will be able to find new positions in the company. Flutter is an operator that oversees the major betting brands Paddy Power, Sky Bet, and Betfair.

In a statement, a Flutter representative said, "These proposed changes reflect the next phase of our integration, as we look to consolidate parallel operating models and position the business to continue growing against a more challenging operating environment.

"While we have sought to minimise the impact this will have on our colleagues, with most employees affected being redeployed into alternative or newly created roles, the proposals may lead to a small number of job losses.

"We are communicating with those affected as part of a consultation process and will be providing them with the support they need throughout."

The company also didn't provide a timeframe as to when these changes will take place. Casino Listings News will update readers as appropriate.
