Cincinnati Bengals Apply for Gambling License

This story was published more than 1 year ago.

This week it was revealed that the NFL's Cincinnati Bengals have applied for a sportsbetting license in the Buckeye State ahead of the activity's regulation and launch on January 1st, 2023.

The move makes the Bengals the first professional sports team to apply for a license, and it would be allowed to offer an online sportsbetting product if it is granted the Class A license it put in for. The company joins the likes of FanDuel and Fanatics, as well as Jack Cleveland Casino, Hall of Fame Village, and Thistledown Racino as having applied for a license.

The license category would allow the Bengals to possibly team up with two different service providers, but only under strict terms.

The company hasn't issued a comment on the application or their plans should they get a license.

We'll update this story as we learn more.
