Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation's Proline sportsbetting brand has signed an agreement with Major League Baseball, becoming an official betting partner of the professional baseball league.
The agreement will give OLG the right to use MLB branding for the Proline brand, including team logos and more for use in sportbetting promotion. Furthermore, the Proline+ platform will have assorted MLB content, with free-to-play games and more.
Proline+ launched last summer, becoming the first legal sportsbook in Ontario. It provides wagers on college and professional sports throughout the globe, and its services are provided in over 10,000 locations throughout the province where lottery products are sold. The company has also signed deals with the NHL and NFL, giving it added marketing rights for the company.
"As we continue exploring additional avenues to engage our fans around the world through sports betting, we need to find creative, knowledgeable partners in their respective regions," said MLB Executive VP of Business Development Kenny Gersh. "With OLG, we have a trusted partner in Ontario with a vision to help us grow."
OLG Chief Digital Strategy Officer Dave Pridmore also commented, adding: "Teaming up with a world-class organisation like the MLB enables OLG to create exciting, one-of-a-kind interactive experiences for baseball fans at the game and on PROLINE+."
