GambleAware Launches Lived Experience Council

This story was published more than 2 years ago.

UK gambling charity GambleAware announced that it has launched its Lived Experience Council, which brings in real people who've dealt with gambling harm in their lives to mentor GambleAware's board.

GambleAware is seeking people to come and join the council, offering their previous experiences to those who're facing hardship in their lives related to gambling. Members can either be the ones who had issues, or have been directly impacted through friends or family. Those council members will advise the GambleAware board on helping the company shape its operations.

Regarding the launch, GambleAware CEO Zoe Osmond said, "We are committed to meaningful and inclusive involvement of those with lived experience of gambling harms to ensure their voice is amplified across all areas of our work."

"The new Council and community members will bring their unique insight, expertise, and knowledge to GambleAware and help us in creating a society free from gambling harms."
