Raw iGaming Will Purchase Leander Games

This story was published more than 2 years ago.

This week Raw iGaming announced that they're purchasing game development studio Leander Games and will be founding a new aggregation business that features the studio's games.

Raw will be taking advantage of the Leander platform to build up their own business. Leander is currently active in 13 markets, and that jumping-off point will give them a boost in getting their products out to a broader rage of companies. Leander currently has more than 300 games in its platforms and has distributed games to 152 casinos as of press time.

This deal seems to be an opening salvo of sorts for Raw, as the company indicated that they're going to be investigating other acquisitions to help their business.

Commenting on the purchase Raw iGaming CEO Tom Wood said, "This is an amazing opportunity to bring together our SuperSlice innovation with one of the best distribution platforms in the industry along with access to the studio that is known for great titles like Ave Caesar and Alibaba and the Forty Thieves.

"After meeting with Leander management, we felt the immediate cultural connection, identified their deep skillset in platform and distribution, as well as the clear synergies we both bring in game development making Raw a new force to reckoned within content and game distribution."

Leander CEO Steven Matsell also commented, adding: "We are very excited to become a part of the Raw family and start the next chapter in Leander by marrying Raw's innovative vision with our market-leading platform as well as the integration of the game teams to deliver even more innovative, ground-breaking content.

"This strengthens our dedication to our customers and partners, offering new games and platform innovations that are sure to shake up the market. We look forward to being a part of Raw and supporting the fight against industry monotony. We welcome new operators and studios that are ready to join as well."

There wasn't an expected finalization date of the acquisition provided at press time.

I'm familiar with Leander games but I've never heard of Raw Igaming. Leander isn't a hugely popular provider but they're definitely slowly growing. Interested to see what this partnership will entail.
