LeoVegas Gets Latest Ontario Go-Ahead

This story was published more than 2 years ago.

Mobile betting specialist LeoVegas Group announced that they're the latest operator to be granted online gaming approval by the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario and will be providing services when the market launches on April 4th.

The operator technically doesn't have a license in the province yet, but has been notified by the regulator that they're listed as an operator and therefore will be able to offer their casino services. The casino operator will be providing slots, table games, and live dealer services when it gets its official license from AGCO subsidiary iGaming Ontario.

Both the LeoVegas and Royal Panda brands will be active in the province at launch.

Regarding the market and approval LeoVegas CEO Gustaf Hagman said, "Over recent years, the LeoVegas brand has become the third most well-known casino brand in the Canadian market and Royal Panda has shown strong growth - a clear sign that the mobile gaming experience we offer is appreciated by North American customers.

"Our full focus now is to complete the process and we look forward to launch in a regulated environment. Given our track record and knowledge to operate in regulated markets we continue to have high expectations and ambitions for continued growth in the Ontario market."

I've been following the news regarding Ontario licensing and to be honest, I'm very curious how it will look on the 4th of April. Just a small amount of providers have been applying/ receiving the license and same goes for operators- yet the market goes live in 2 weeks. Also interested to see how the Leovegas product will look in this market.
