Swedish Bingo Operator Gets Warning

This week Sweden's gaming regulator Spelinspektionen announced that it fined Sveriges Bingoföreningars Organisation (Swedish Bingo Association) for failing to display proper information on its website.

The company's website was found to not have any logos or information for players to find deposit limits, exclusion, and self-assessment test on the site's log out page, which is specifically required under Swedish regulation.

The regulator also found that licensee information such as names, email address, and telephone numbers were also missing.

The organisation said that the information was indeed on the website, but when Spelinspektionen looked the information was still missing.

Spelinspektionen concluded that a warning was sufficient and said in part: "In the current case, it appears that all logos according to the legislation have been placed at the top of both the regular website and the mobile-friendly website in logged-in mode, which means better protection for players than if the information had been completely missing.

"The shortcoming regarding the logos was only a small part of the information linked to gaming responsibility. These circumstances are according to Spelinspektionen mitigating and show that there was no intention from Sweden Bingo Association's page not to follow the regulations, or that it was about systematic shortcomings in the field of gambling responsibility."
