Parx Casino will be launching a new land casino in the Keystone State after the PGCB granted Parx parent company Greenwood Gaming and Entertainment a Category 4 license.
The casino will open in later 2022, and will be officially dubbed Parx Casino Shippensburg. It will house 73,000 square feet of gaming space as well as electronic table games, sports bar, and restaurant. A full sportsbook will be offered at some point in the future.
The casino is expected to generate 125 permanent jobs once it's completed.
This licensing comes after Greenwood applied for authorization in 2018, having submitted a bid of $8.1 million. If the company wants to add table games, they can submit a $2.5 million fee and could then provide up to 30 tables. 10 extra tables could be added one year after opening.
We'll be updating this story as developments arise.
