Online gaming hosting service Internet Vikings has announced that they've launched in the state of Illinois, marking the 18th state that the company is active in.
The move is unique in that Internet Vikings doesn't have to hold a gaming license in the Land of Lincoln, due to a loophole in the state's gaming laws. The law currently states that operators have to have a client in operation in the state, which is where Internet Vikings come into play. The company says they have deals with two operators in the state and will host their internet operations once they go live in the state.
Internet Vikings is currently live in 17 other states, including the likes of New Jersey, Colorado, and several others.
Commenting on the launch, Internet Vikings Head of US Elena Kvakova said, "As a business we are both proud and very eager to see how rapidly we are keeping up our rate of expansion in the US. We have no intention of slowing our pace until we have secured a base in all of the 21 states where igaming has been legalized."
