Detroit casinos saw their gaming revenue surge by 102.5% in 2021, generating $1.29 billion for the period.
Slots generated 77% of revenue with $998.8 hauled in. Table games generated 21% of revenues at $268 million, while sportsbetting generated 2% at $27 million.
Taxes paid to Michigan came in at $102.6 million, and $1.3 million in sports betting taxes were paid to the city of Detroit.
The MGM Grand generated 43% of the city's casino revenues, while MotorCity was second at 35%. The Greektown Casino generated 22% of revenues.
December saw revenues hit $112.5 million. Slots and table game revenue was $112.5 million, up 405% from last year, while sportsbetting revenues were $1.1 million.
Once again, the most lucrative spot, with $51.4 million in revenue, up 576.5% from last year.
