American online gaming company BetMGM announced today that they've been granted approval to begin offering online sportsbetting services in the Empire State beginning January 17th.
The service will begin hosting bets through a BetMGM website and through a mobile app, providing wagers on events throughout the world. The app will be tied to MGM Grand's M Life Rewards program and will see players able to accrue and redeem points. The app is already live in a number of states, including New Jersey, Michigan, Colorado, Arizona, and others.
There's likely a large marketing push coming as well, as there will almost certainly be television, radio, and online spots out to promote the brand to the millions of potential bettors in New York State.
"With today's monumental news, we'll now be able to fully activate our relationships with MGM Resorts' Empire City Casino and Madison Square Garden," said BetMGM CEO Adam Greenblatt. "We look forward to offering customers in New York unique experiences that they can't access on any other platform.
"A huge thank you to the New York Gaming Commission as well as to our entire BetMGM team who have worked tirelessly to bring this to fruition."
